[EN] Wait! Am I still MVP?

Most Valuable Professional Award is a special award from Microsoft (Community) for Comunity (Microsoft oriented) Members who are active (more or less) in The Community Zone. A definition (explanation) from Microsoft is more detailed:

For more than two decades, Microsoft has recognized exceptional, independent community leaders who share their passion, technical expertise, and real-world knowledge of Microsoft products with others. It is part of Microsoft’s commitment to supporting and enriching technical communities.

I have been awarded as Most Valuable Professional for SQL Server since 1st July 2010. My first award was a very, very surprise for me. I didn’t expect this award, and of course I was very happy and proud to be a member of this fantastic group. I’m a little strange guy, and before July 2011, July 2012, July 2013, July 2014 I never checked my inbox for eventually renomination. Not before but on afternoon of 1st July I had time for checking my inbox, and always I got special message:

Dear Tobiasz Koprowski,
Congratulations! We are pleased to present you with the 2011/2012/2013/2014 Microsoft® MVP Award!
This award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with others.
We appreciate your outstanding contributions in SQL Server technical communities during the past year.

This year I had no chance to check my email. Why? On Wednesday July 1st, in the morning I attended for two hours brainstorming session by Jim Shields {aka Jim Shout} at Innovation Center {SITE|TWITTER} of DeMontfort University in Leicester (btw I’m proud Innovation Center Member) . Right after session I went to Southampton (from Leicester via London St Pancras via Oxford Circus via London Waterloo) where I delivered WP_20150701_007_stitch(?) two hours session about Windows Azure SQL Database, compability, backup, restore, best practices, tips and tricks for Southampton SQL Server User Group {SITE|EVENTBRITE|TWITTER}. I wrote delivered? It’s not good word… Evangelized will be better, because location if this meeting was most surprised for whole my speaker’s short career (picture on the right…)

After session (being dropped off by Steph Middelton at Southampton Central) I just back to Leicester (from Southampton via Clapham Junction via Vauxhall via London St Pancras). Whole my trip was about thirteen hours. Yes, in the meantime I saw one tweet from my friend from Kosovo: Dukagjin Maloku and today one post form CQURE Team. And just few hours ago I had chance to check my inbox, where I found information that I’m still in this band.

I was awarded sixth time in a row for SQL Server Most Valuable Professional. And because I completely not only had no time for checking mail, but also I completely forgot about renomination time (being busy but not being boring) Today I was surprised on the same level as six years ago! And yes it’s the power of community and magic of right distance for my daily, weekly, monthly, yearly activity in The Community Zone.
