[EN] SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2 Cumulative Update 8 is available

LOGO__SQL_ServerYes, they are massive updates from Microsoft for SQL Server. Next three posts will be about those updates: first two for SQL Server 2008 and thelast one  for SQL Server 2008 R2. So let’s go!

In this Cumulative Update 8 [version build: 10.00.4326.0] Microsoft resoleved & fixed six bugs. Below You can find short information about fixed bugs:

VSTS BUG: 831265 | 2629456
FIX: Access violation when you insert a record into a new empty partition in SQL Server 2008 or in SQL Server 2008 R2

VSTS BUG:830035 | 2640027
FIX: SQL Server Agent job fails if you set the job schedule type as “Start automatically when SQL Server Agent starts” in SQL Server 2008 SP2

VSTS BUG:830958 | 2645648
FIX: Export procedure fails when you export a 64-bit SSRS 2008 R2 report that contains multiple levels of a document map to the PDF format

VSTS BUG:854952 | 2653893
FIX: It takes a long time to restore a database in SQL Server 2008 R2 or in SQL Server 2008

VSTS BUG:851696 | 2658214
FIX: Poor performance when you run a query that contains correlated AND predicates in SQL Server 2008

FIX: Unnecessary updates to a subscriber after you reinitialize it if a new article is added to a publication in SQL Server 2008

Microsoft has recommended to test all hotfixes before updating in production environment. More information about this release You can find with the article: Cumulative Update 8
