[EN] Sunday Market–SharePoint Performance by Idera

Capture_Idera_SharePointPerformance08The second one from my basic package of my customer’s small SharePoint farm is free tool from Idera for monitoring SharePoint application. Of course it’s for free and it’s very simple – but for many reasons (especially when You work on free versions) is enough for the beginners. Because it’s free – has been added for my Sunday market collection (explanation are in my previous post).

The process for getting this solution is as simple as possible (back to my previous post) or follow me.

In this case I’ll show in few pictures almost all functions of Idera product free SharePoint Performance Monitor 2.0. For free download You must:
>> go to Idera SharePoint Performance Monitor 2.0 site HERE
>> fill registration data sheet
>> check Your mail box for download link

When You get SharePoint Performance Monitor 2.0, it’s time for installation. It’s very simple:

Pic.11 | In Monitoring and Option part You can customizing all metrics: collecting time, periods; checking response site and host; percentage of usage of memory, processor, application pool usage, requests, site response and alerting. Capture_Idera_SharePointPerformance15

Pic.12 | Small but important part of customizing is about keep running after close and removing from task bar. By default when You close window, You will exit from application (!) Capture_Idera_SharePointPerformance16

Pic.13 | Last but not least customizing option is for alerting: You can specify mail alerting (with or without SSL). It’s really nice to get info about bad health just to mailbox before users.

The standard SharePoint Performance Monitoring You can see three of Your environment monitoring:

  1. SharePoint >> SP status (based on KPI); Current vs Maximum Connections, Site Response Time and better than in previous version of this application info about SharePoint version which is installed on Your host.
  2. Internet Information Services >> IIS status (based on KPI); ASP application Requests per second, ASP Requests Queued vs Rejected and info about IIS, status and ASP version.
  3. Host Server >> Host status (based on KPI); processor usage, memory usage and full info about host server: OS version, processors (physical and logical), memory (physical and virtual)

From my perspective. It’s one of the best and easiest free tool for small companies. Works very well and it’s free. Enjoy!!
